- Stenographer Grade C: Candidates who have passed the 10+2 (Intermediate) examination from any recognized board in India are eligible to apply As part of the selection process, transcription is required with a time limit of 40 minutes for English and 55 minutes for Hindi
- Stenographer Grade D: Candidates who have passed the 10+2 (Intermediate) examination from any recognized board in India are eligible to apply The transcription test duration is 50 minutes for English and 65 minutes for Hindi

How to Fill the SSC Stenographer Option Cum Preference Form 2026
- Open the official Staff Selection Commission (SSC) website
- Go to the Login / Candidate Dashboard section
- Enter your Registration Number, Password, and Captcha Code
- Click on Login
- After login, find “Stenographer Option cum Preference Form 2026”
- Click on the link to open the form
- Select your Post Preference: Stenographer Grade ‘C’ or Stenographer Grade ‘D’
- Choose Departments/Ministries in order of preference
- Arrange them carefully (top = highest priority)
- Drag or reorder options (if allowed)
- Choose only those posts you are willing to join
- Double check eligibility for each post
- Click on Preview to review your choices
- Verify all preferences carefully
- Click on Final Submit
